This is the website of Richard Ross.
Richard started his journalistic career as a radio news reporter on the BBC, latterly on Radio 4’s PM programme, before moving into wine writing more than ten years ago. He first wrote for Wine Magazine in 1999, and in its various incarnations since, and became online editor for the magazine, launching its website and a string of other drinks magazine websites since, including a close involvement with the web presence of the International Wine Challenge.
He’s been involved in several international projects since, including an online collaboration between The Wine Society of India and the website of the India Times (the world’s biggest-selling English-language newspaper).
Always interested in how technology and the online space can deliver smarter and more interesting wine content, Richard is now involved in building and developing the wine content for iPhone apps through APPetise.co.uk , having previously been in charge of the wine content on a ground-breaking app called WINEfindr, using visual search technology to recognise wine labels and deliver in-depth wine information.
As well as this, he continues to write for a variety of drinks publications including OLN .
Richard won the ‘Investigative Writing’ category in the inaugural Born Digital Wine Awards in 2010 for writing on this website, and is on the judging panel for the 2011 Awards.
